October is NeighborWoods Month!
National NeighborWoods Month was created by members of the Alliance
for Community Trees to celebrate the benefits of trees in the places
people live. Together, ACT's 140 members encourage tree planting
events and tree care, creating tree canopies that increase the health
and livability of neighborhoods for us all. This year there are 200
events in more than 50 cities!

RESEARCH
Tree Transplanting and Establishment
Champaign, IL- Both experience and research make it clear that almost
any size tree of any species can be transplanted. Success depends on
the reestablishment of a normal spreading root system. An
understanding of how roots grow and take up water can aid the
process, even on difficult sites.
