SUCCESS STORY
El Paseo de los Arboles Park, Commemorative Parks
(Tucson, AZ)- Trees for Tucson spearheads a reforestation and
beautification project where the public can sponsor tree plantings in
commemoration of their loved ones. The "Pathway of the Trees" Park
serves the dual purposes of offering the public commemorative space
and providing private funds for the landscaping of a public park.

RESEARCH
Tree Transplanting and Establishment
Both experience and research make it clear that almost any size tree
of any species can be transplanted. Success depends on the
reestablishment of a normal spreading root system. This 1997 article
by researcher Gary Watson of Morton Arboretum is a timeless reminder
to pay attention to the details - adequate site preparation and
frequent watering are the biggest keys to successful establishment of
newly planted trees, even on difficult sites.

Technology in the Urban Forest- National Webcast
June 19, 2008
Technology and trees is no more an oxymoron than urban forestry. If
your mission is to restore, enhance, and protect the tree canopy of a
given locality, then urban forestry technology tools can help you set
and achieve ambitious goals using a suite of tools including
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and tree benefit calculators.
Extrapolating the data into bottom line dollars and cents can be a
powerful tool for gaining the attention of public officials.
