So far only Implant, Asteroid and Seeing Red have been what I'd call
essential KJ. Implant is my fave Jaz song so far. Seeing Red is
incredibly lovely and Asteroid is a gorgeous slab of metal. Catchy and
brutal at the same time.

Total Invasion and Dark Forces are highly unremarkable apart from fairly
annoying vocals and bland chunking riffs.

The less said about Loose Cannon the better. A rubbish choice of
single, an awful video. Hasn't improved at all since the old demo.

TD&RS starts excellently but seems to tail off. Could have easily been
a 3 minute song and not lost anything.

Zennon sounds like a Democracy type track to me. Also sounds like very
early New Model Army. Very likable though.

I'd say I'm more your Revelations/Firedances Joker although I've been a
fan since the beginning. I do like Extremities a lot, but wasn't overly
impressed by Pandemonium.

For the next album they need to get the bassist involved in the writing
process, aside from Seeing Red the bass is very, very forgettable
throughout.

A mixed bag so far, yet still miles ahead of the competition.

Well, speaking as someone who's not heard a single note of any of the
new
stuff yet (including Loose cannon) I find your review very comforting.
This
is particularly the case as - I think - you are a bit of a
'Revelations/Fire
Dances' Joker like me rather than a 'Pandemonium/Dirt...' one. (Don't
know
why I think this - must be something you said once). It's not that I'm
expecting KJ2 to sound anything like the early stuff though.

I never really liked 'Dirt...' (I'm not a Metaler) and although
Pandemonium
is good and has its great moments, I've been waiting for years for KJ to

deliver something that has the 'F- me factor', as John Peel would say.
Going
by what most people seem to be saying on the Gathering, this is it!.
