[kj] Play Dead etc

IMHO anything by Play Dead is WELL WORTH investigating. The Tenant, Walk Away, Isabel, The Last Degree, Sin of Sins - these are fantastic songs. The bass playing especially stands out. Only one problem. The CD reissue of the Pleasureland tracks has the remixed versions - far inferior to the originals! All the tension and power of Walk Away dissipated. Nevertheless, if Killing Joke is your thing you will definitely appreciate Play Dead.

The first couple of John Peel sessions that Play Dead recorded (Metallic 
Smile, Pray To Mecca, Effigy, Propaganda being the first) were excellent and 
the mini-LP "The First Flower" again was pretty good. IMHO they showed 
influences of Joy Division and Black Sabbath, rather than the Joke. Whereas 
1919 were so obviously KJ influenced both in music and subject matter and
