i remember play dead , have a couple of albums(vinyl) amongst the classics 
being ...Sin of sins....pray to mecca, bloody good they were too, must dig it 
out of the loft....I believe they were Sheffield based...oh such memories of me 
early 20s, I seem to recall a sort of effigy type sleeve cover in black with 
lit up pumpin type features, either that or some wicked puff I had that 
night!!!

As mentioned earlier it is ancient history, and there are many on this list
that were already aware of the war song. However, if i was relatively new to
KJ I'd prefer to hear this news whilst cradled in the comforting bosom of
fellow devotees.

I think it's wise to be objective and remain critical. There is very little
i'd criticise the band for, but in the early years (which also happen to be
my favourite KJ period) there were instances when they were derivative of
others. For instance, I'm sure Turn To red is similar to something else I've
heard. And they did used to do a bloody awful cover of Bodies.

If you put it into context though, there were so many bands that followed
that copied Killing joke. Play Dead anyone? appalling stuff
