Deliverance for you Brits, Cannucks, Euro folk and non-NYC Yanks on this
list tired of listening to me whine, whinge, blather and sob about the
agonizing lack of specifics regarding the proposed NYC date.

First, the good news: A venue has been declared, as well as a date when tix
go on sale. These are both good. Killing Joke will be playing Webster Hall,
formerly known as The Ritz, where the band has actually played before in
about 1981. Tix for this blessed event will go on sale on Friday September
26. This information was gleaned via this site:

Now, THE BAD NEWS: Killing Joke are *NOT* the headliners of this particular
showcase. It's the "Opening Night Party" of the CMJ New Music Marathon (see
earlier rant), which means it will invariably be jam-packed to the rafters.
The line up so far is: The Fever, VHS or Beta (that's the band's name),
Black Box Recorder, My Morning Jacket, Killing Joke and someone called The
New Deal.

>From what I gather, Killing Joke --- a wildly respected band of seasoned
veterans -- are going on *BEFORE* the New Deal. To say that I find this
insulting and unacceptable is akin to suggesting that the Palestinians
aren't very pleased with the Israelis.

In any event, those are the facts for now.
