I not one for putting labels on things,But "Punk" bands were (IMO)The Pistols,Damned ,Souisxie and a few others,Everything that came after that can be placed in other categories: New Wave,Industrial,Oi,Goth ETC ETC.
Younger people call Nirvana punk, while kids today think busted are .
I suppose Killing Joke don't really fit into any category .

Kids, I'm not *KNOCKING* the Beat,....I'm just pointing out the discrepancies in advertising a "real Punk" gig when you've got bands on the roster who aren't orthodox Punk at all (yes, I'm aware that there was a mutual respect from both the Punk and Ska scenes). It's just that when you box things in a slap genre tags on everything, you're bound to look foolish at one point or another (and this is one of those points).
Best Beat tune = "Two Swords"

I was at the gig in Aberdeen & saw them at Glastonbury. They were fantastic, full of energy, stand down Margaret is now stand down george.

Nope but they had a large punk scene involvement
They were in Aberdeen and the audience was full of old punks. Pretty good night as well.
This stuff started as an alternative to the Reading scene so I would take the real punk title as tongue in cheek!
Although its mainly the oi stylee bands that are involved

Everything sounds good except for the bit about "real Punk" bands playing. Ugh! The whiff of desperate elitism is stifling.
And The Beat (Ska) are *NOT* a Punk band....real or imaginary. Never were.
