[kj] Rollins plays (hates) Joke

I agree with you Alex that the course of KJ'ness has taken some slightly
dubious routes on occasion ( a bit of over-steering by the reverend
Coleman methinks ) but BTATS has some truly stellar moments and cannot
be lumped into the same equation at OTG and most certainly Democracy....
And how anyone can mention Iggy Poop on this list is beyond me....

never been a fan of Iggy. He's been more hit than miss and frankly most
of his music is stupid hard rock at best.
And Democracy doesnt deserve to be grouped in with OTG and BTATS!

I think what irks me most about this is Henry's tireless defense of
Iggy Pop. Now, I *ADORE* Iggy Pop -- but facts are facts, the man has
released some truly *ATROCIOUSLY INDEFENSIBLE* records in his day
("Candy" anyone?). I remember Rollins guest-VJ'ing on MTV at one point,
and playing the video for Ig's "Cry for Love" (a crap song from a crap
album) and frothing at the mouth about how great Iggy was. Now
sure....Killing Joke may have parted from their more celebrated
trajectory at one or two points (notably BTATS, OTG and DEMOCRACY), but
fuck....at least give them credit where it's due. Maybe OTG *WAS*
"pathetic", but to damn the band based on that one record (yet
summarily turn a blind eye to a Iggy's period in the wilderness) is a
double fucking standard.
