my first job after leaving school was on the amusement park at Woburn
Abbey. On sundays, I used to drive the narrow gauge train. One day I
was in the train drivers shed between train rides, sat on a small
shelf leaning against the side wall of the shed. This side wall
contained a flap, which could be opened up so the shed could be used
as a pay kiosk. This flap suddenly decided to come open, and I fell
backwards and ended up hanging upside down by my knees, looking at
about 300 laughing people. After I had clumsily extracted myself from
this position, I then had to take the train out, with all the punters
still pointing and laughing.....bastards!
