Ooops, I can't quite believe what I did ... on Sunday evening I set up the
video to record at 12:10 (after The Premiership) but on ITV1 (CH3) rather
than CH4. After one of my "worse ever poll" replies I found it highly ironic
that I ended up taping "Faith and Music - Lionel Ritchie discusses his
career and spiritual beliefs".
For fuck's sake, shoot me now ... doh

Damn - didn't check my email until today, so missed this. Anyone video it?

For those of us in the UK, I see that the Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster
feature in a 35 minute long CH4 prog tonight (12:10am) with Amen - "New
Kings of Rock 'n' Roll" - better stick the video on ...

Hi Antoni - yes, I have the 80MBLD album - love it. They're a great band
live too, as you found out.
Allegedly they had never heard of the Cramps/Birthday Party, and draw their
influences somewhat further back in time. I'm not totally convinced I
believe them though...

Some cross wires here Simon - the original thread comes from Madani (Ana)
rather than me - mind you I think I will take you up on the offer anyway.
Meanwhile, I went to the Rock Against Racism gig at the London Astoria last
night with a few of my old friends. Mick Jones (The Clash) joined The
Libertines on stage for their encore but frankly I could not get that
excited by their set, although plenty of young ladies in the venue seemed
rather impressed. I was more in my element a bit earlier when the legendary
Buzzcocks gave it laaaarge as usual and I was rather pleasantly surprised by
the Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster. Crap name but a kind of murky swamp
rock sound not heard since The Cramps and The Birthday Party were treading
the boards. Even vague elements of Bela Lugosi's Dead in there on one track.
Anyone got the album ? If so, opinions ? Cheers
As for the gooners, well, we've got to beat them one day ... haven't we ?
I'll be at the home leg ... away tickets in short supply so it's ITV1 for
the 2nd leg.
Regards,
Antoni

quality, with a decent balance between all the instruments and no drunken
nutter heckling near the microphone or any of that sort of thing. There's an
early outing for We Have Joy.

won't rub it in if we win as long as you promise not to do the same if you
win.
