radio 4 has been broadcasting more of the hitch hikers' guide to the galaxy series, covering the "krikkit wars"
basically, a planet full of folk live a contented life, happy in the knowledge that there is nothing "out there". Until, one day...an object crashes in from the sky. Suddenly the people of Krikkit realise theirs is not the only world. There is a Universe out there.
Reaction? "It will have to go" (or something). And so they devised to destroy all that was not Krikkit. 

Gawd Bless Douglas, sci-fi comic or sooth sayer?
