Can't agree with number 2 ... I really like Muse (though I wish they weren't playing arena sized venues ... boo hoo hoo) ... then again "Seven Seas Of Rhye" was the first single I ever bought !

They certainly feature in my 'what the f**k' top five of bands that are inexplicably popular.
1) Travis. Bland indie music that mums would like but wouldnt buy and young adults should hate but do buy. Not even interesting enough to be depressing.
2) Muse. They sound like music that's been written by maths teachers but with even less soul. Kind of like Queen without the personality crossed with Feeder.
3) Libertines. Tuneless rubbish. A singer that has no personality or talent. Music thats been done a hundred times before but better.
4) Lost Prophets. A welsh band that tries desperately hard to sound like an american one. Sort of like Incubus but even more sickening (and without Incubus' fairly decent guitarist). Their videos are truly cringeworthy (with left-hand drive cars, school reunion banners and american footballers).
5) Funeral For a Friend. As generic a band as you could possibly find. Strictly 'Emo' by numbers. Down to the guitar playing, image and song titles. Commercialising yet another genre. Wankers.

I'd be suprised if there was a single fan here. Good hype, wooful music, the little I can rememeber after hearing a couple of singles is a dull Britpopish sound, a bit like Sleeper without Louise whats-her-face.
But as I say good hype..

I'm betting they've got a fare few fans here. Can someone explain the appeal of them?
I've got a soft spot for their crack-addled lead singer (he used to write a QPR fanzine back in the day!) but the music seems just soooo utterly without merit.
There is no balls to it, it sounds like it's being played by 15 year olds and he sings much like a drunk fergal sharkey. yet they are proclaimed as the saviours of rock and roll.
