I have recorded many
PJ Harvey sessions and live stints
from jumpin' John Peel,
but no
I cannot copy them for you
because:
1. I don't know Polly's position on boots. If she
disapproves of fans sharing unofficial recordings then
I would respect her wishes not to share them.
2. I have no machine that can record from tapes.
As regards Killing Joke and bootlegs, rare live
recordings, sessions, etc, I had assumed that the band
were completely happy for fans to be sharing these as
there was so much of it on sites such as The Last
Laugh and An Irrational Domain.
If you want to find rare PJ Harvey recordings I'm sure
there are lots on Soulseek. Anything recorded for
Radio One is usually of great sound quality, and I'd
particularly recommend the more cathartic version of
"Shame" which they recorded for Peel a few months
back. There are also two as yet unreleased songs in
that session, both of which have been played at most
gigs on the tour - "Evol" and "Uh Huh Her."
The Bristol PJ Harvey gig was filmed, and I think the
intention is to release it as a DVD. For that show
they were joined by John Parish and it was one of the
best on the tour. The last gig in London was even more
intense though.
I had a few Joke related heckles during the tour.
In Birminghum, someone was waving a lighter around in
front of Ding and I shouted, "Lets All Go!"
It might've been Bristol where I shouted "Do you feel
illusion?" but I don't remeber why or even if was at
that specific gig. Fall of Because?
In Brighton people were shouting lots of requests for
the band to ignore, so I shouted to the hecklers "A
voice is calling!"
In London I was struck dumb for the whole gig.
Good
Night
