An Air France passenger jet carrying about 200 people erupted in flames after skidding off a runway while landing in a fierce thunderstorm at Toronto's Pearson International Airport.


Being from Toronto, I've  been glued to the media about updates on this event. Apparently, there have been NO fatalities, but the city has been "grid-locked" due to the fact that it occurred so close to a major highway... The lack of fatalities has been attributed to excellent training of the flight crew and the amazingly fast response of emergency teams (firefighters, ambulance and police).

Crazy weather seems to be the culprit.
