Time for an honest answer to your question:

I thought the Thursday gig was shit, one of the worst
KJ shows I've ever seen, almost entirely down to the
atrocious sound. That Times review posted just
recently had it right - by the end I just wanted the
horrible noise to stop, and believe me, it pains me to
say that about Killing Joke. I wasn't down the front
so didn't have the adrenalin rush most people did, and
for half the gig felt guilty just for thinking what I
was thinking. But it was crap, as bad as the only
other truly bad KJ show I've seen, at Kilburn in - 90?
91?

The holy trinity of 2003's gigs - Camden and the two
Astoria nights - are still for me the best KJ shows
I've seen. These didn't come close, but thankfully my
faith was restored (well, 99%) by the Friday gig.
Sound was much better, and yes, Pandys, Receiving and
LLB did bring a tear to my eye. I for one will be
avoiding the Motley shows because, you know, one's
faith can only be tested so many times.
