I had a friend who drove them around also for a few of their shows here in
MI (he worked for the promoter/venue and had to shuttle around bands all the
time). I am guessing late 80s early 90s. Basically he said if you were to
think of a stereotypical, miserable, English person it would be everyone in
New Order. But Modern English bested them in 1990 (whenever they tried to,
pathetically, revive their career). They thought the world shoudl have
worshiped the ground they walk on. BUT. The Rolling Stones I guess continue
to still be, genuinely, nice chaps
