alex mentioned the similarities tonally between geordie and eddie van halen specifically "unchained".
it is true they are similar and the reason/s why are several
1. both guitarists tune their instruments down albeit eddie only a half tone...
a. but geordie has used three tunings
1.(standard on kj79, wtf )
2.(then a half tone on revelations)
3. whole tone from firedances on
2. both guitarists used thin gauge picks for the tonally comparitive years.
a. thin picks impart very articulate and rhythmically tight and "driving" feel to the player's technique.
b. thin picks (.48mm - .50mm) have brighter tones and tend to make the lower strings on guitar more
articulate as well as apposed to the majority of lower guitar string sounds by other artists which sound
garbled and muffled.
3. both guitarsists use/d full range speakers which tend to make clearer sounds at higher volumes as opposed to distorting to into messy sound.
more later if need be
