Loudest band for me would probably be the Swans at the Rat in Boston ('87 I  
think).  Right up there with it would be Dino Jr. at the old Ritz in NYC  when 
Lou Barlow was still in the band.   Swans show sounded amazingly  good, Dino 
Jr.  sound was unbearably painful.  Definitely an art to  being loud.    -Carl
