[kj] POLL. . . all that Jaz

Hi All

Just like to add my two bits to this topic!

I feel and hope that Killing joke, will remain with us. After all who would
replace them.
Todays bands are to controlled to address a lot of the serious issues going
on in the world.

I feel their music is as strong as ever. So their not doing what they done
in the 80's, Jaz vocals have become harsher
which I feel fits perfectly with todays metal scene. I'm currently working
with a young band called Sanguine http://sanguineband.com
who had never heard of Killing Joke until the last two albums, and they have
soaked them up, like their a new breed. At Sanguines shows
you see young metal heads, with KJ T'shirts. So why should they retire? As
long as they are gaining, new followers and still inspiring
the latest music genre then they should continue to lead.

I don't think any band should be blamed for the
sub-par music that crops up in their wake. Afterall,
Faith No More begat Korn and whatnot. It's not their
fault. And Richard D James shouldn't have to apologize
for the likes of.......I don't know. Plaid?

You used that bit last year when some West Coast
thrash metal guy kicked the bucket, Pete. It was
hilarious this time too.

I think the problem is it's all too much the Jaz Coleman Four now, and not
Kj proper. There's wayyy too much Jer'. *repeated for emphasis *
That vibrant, electric, Big Paul + Youth/Raven rhythm & joie-de-vivre
aspect is sorely missing, nay, critically so. THAT'S that "something" ithink
people are referring to when they say something's that can't be replaced.

And Geordie is severely underemployed and underrated in his own band.

One more Disc with the missing pieces brought back, and then I'm ok with
it if they retire.

gorilla spanker <Gorillaspanker at aussiemail.com.au> wrote:
Do you think that the time has come for Killing joke to disband?
What with the defragmentation of the band , which is now basically just
Jaz and Geordie . The endless delays and cancellations of everything, the
inability of Jaz to be able to sing or write songs which are on par with the
early stuff.
Alister Crowley ended up a poor lonely old man who ended up trying to
demonstrate his "magic" to any one who would listen . Will Jaz end up the
same way ? (Exchange *Magik* for an Island haven in (outh America)
I would say Yes : Its time for Killing joke to pack it in.
  What do you reckon?

Paul Rangecroft has done a mash up of Requiem with Darkforces and a bit of
the MINOG hideous mix.
And it's rather good too

it is here:

http://www.robmoss.nildram.co.uk/darkrequiem.mp3

hope you enjoy it

By the way, Paul has unsubbed. Someone posted some boring old shit about him
that was without foundationm in the first place and remains without
foundation now. Instead of losing it, Paul has unsubbed. Plus he is sick of
the shit that is just starting to creep back it.

A symptom of the times again. Let's hope that this is the end of it.

Probably due to it being leaked. Otherwise, sales
would have been THROUGH the ROOF.

Leaked or not, the publicity still wasn't there, and it was in as many shops
as it could have been either.
