So I watched this and I cam across a few interesting points.
1. I had commented how the strings in Invocation sound sampled (ala played
with a keyboard and not am actual string section). In the video not only do
they show Jaz with the string section BUT I could tell right away that the
mixing was better in the video. So what probably happened is that the mp3
compression squashed all of the subtle timbre of the strings. Which leads
me to believe that the record will sound better in final release.
2. It was interesting to hear that went for minimalism in the recording
process (if that is truly the case). And maybe that is what makes this
release stand out from the past several recordings. It is obvious to me
that that everything from Etxtremities onward is HEAVY in overbubs.
Sometimes good sometimes not. Democracy (in its original mix) is probably
the most obvious.
3. Jaz should avoid white makeup with black. It accents the...larger sides
of his characteristics. I am sure it looks better on film I am sure.
