[kj] OT: Clash-inspired house music???

I asked a mate of mine who's a big Clash fan.  This is what he said:

"I believe the graffiti artist actually called himself Futura 2000. He certainly contributed some backing vocals on Combat Rock and (I think) did some of The Clash stage backdrops in the U.S. around the same time.

"My opinion is that The Clash certainly broke down some boundaries between different musical genres (reggae, rap etc.) and paved the way for bands like Pop Will Eat Itself, Fundamental and lots of others who did a kinda rock/hip-hop/rap thing with attitude.

"House music ain't my speciality but I guess there are elements to be found on Sandinista and Combat Rock."
