Yes, heavy. Contextually, for the time period (1984), those are heavy
power chords. I mean it's not fucking Limp Bizkit or Cannibal Corpse or
Discharge for fuck's sake, but it isn't Simply Red or Cocteau Twins or
INXS guitar-esque, either.
