I did something similar a few years ago – and I love cats (and all animals)

I felt so awful – took it to the vets but it was too late – I cried my eyes
out

sadly most pussycats don’t have much in the way of road sense, I suppose 

its just the way of things

I killed a cat today.
It ran out in front of the car - no way of avoiding it & unfortunately & it
didn’t die particularly quickly or peacefully.
Not pleasant at all.
It’s collar was thrown off & it had a number which I called but got the
answer phone.
I think, being a little shaken I rambled & in true Alan Partridge
(fatpotanga?) style I think I said something like “It’s still alive but
barely. No I think it’s dead now. Yes, it’s dead”
I hope to god I didn’t but I think I may have...
Oh well – there’s another tale for the archives.

I don’t like cats.
I like killing them even less.
