[kj] OT: Audio experts: Software that lets you isolate instruments in an mp3?

Hi Oliver,
Older gatherers will have heard this before, but - I once had the chance to do exactly that.? I arrived at a gig in Manchester so early (I had hitched, and been lucky with the lifts) that the doors were all open so I went in. KJ were doing their soundcheck, and eventually Jaz came and stood on the dancefloor to listen while Geordie played Night Time all on his own.? There were bits that - not being a musician - I had assumed were keyboards but turned out to be guitar -? they sounded totally unlike anything anyone else could do with a guitar, but I saw Geordie play them.? Listening to pure Geordie was incredible - one of?my fave KJ moments ever.

Hmm - dammit, there needs to be a way to do this! I suggest in the future musicians press CDs with the option to just listen to all the drum parts of every song, guitar parts, etc, separately, if one wished, like some fancy DVDs (porn ones, usually) let you view things from different angles, you know? Wouldn't that be amazing? Just listening to the Geordie guitar parts of a song if you wanted, etc.?
