[kj] WEIRD dREAMS

I have to share this w/somebody, so who better than the gatherers! Keep in mind, I have a 4 month old at home (and I'm on summer vacation while the wife is working) so sleep has been very irregular. I had a very weird dream a couple of days ago during a deperate nap. The best way to explain it is: There's what's probably considered a classic DUB reggae album, "Cry Tuff Dub Encounter Chapter III" by Prince Far-I and the Arabs, which I've owned for over 25 years. The most memorable tune on the lp is "Shake the Nation", which features guest vocals by Ari-Up and Viv from the Slits. Well, my dream involved they lyrics to that tune ("Prince Far-I gonna shake up the nation") and had me asking a question using some version of the lyrics (which don't really exists, but were changed for the dream). The question also involved use of the word "pon" which in reggae patois means "upon", but I was using it in a different way, to mean "for" (which probably isn't a real use of the word). Anyway, I found this use of "pon" completely hysterical, and in my dream kept repeating this lyric-based question over and over again, with the goal of asking every one I knew the question based on that song (which doesn't even have "pon" in it). I found this so funny in my dream that I think I was lauging in my sleep to the point of tearing up (I'm sure I've cried during certain dreams, e.g. about the passing of my dad, and woken up teary eyed before) but this is the 1st dream I can remember in which I've cracked up. Of course, the dream has no basis in reality (except for the fact that I love reggae). And, I do think (in my waking state) that "pon" is a pretty funny word...Imagine a reggae toast--"Peter West standing 'pon the corner/Talking about the New World Order..."
