It sounds ridiculous to make that distinction now, but it was fairly surprising/shocking/sacreligious at the time. In any case, I never really thought much of their original music, but they've done some great covers along the way. I'm particularly fond of their version of "Land of Treason" by the Germs (I prefer it to the original, actually) and they do a smokin' version of "Season of Wither" by Aerosmith.
