I'm an old fucker.  My first show was back in '77 - Van Halen in a bar a 
year before they were signed, thus yeah, my tastes admittedly run a bit 
towards the archaic.

IMO, much of today's music is pro-tools enhanced third generation retreading 
of far better stuff from back in the day. Hard rock/metal is for the most 
part completely stagnant with the D-tuned guitars and cookie monster 
singers. I'm lucky if I discover 2 - 3 new bands worth a listen a year 
anymore. Someone mentioned Mastadon - I agree they're one of the better 
bands playing balls out metal and adding something a bit new to the genre. 
Lamb of God would be much better if they shitcanned their singer.
