[kj] Vinyl mastering?

Vinyl is not cheap.  No matter how it is done.  In theory what should happen 
is mastering should be done for each media it is going on (vinyl, cd, 
cassette/8-track {even though technically it should be mastered 
differently}, and digital).

With the exception of the stereophiles (ala the Steve Albini types) people 
will master to CD and adjust the levels for vinyl.  Sometimes it works but 
typically there is little difference and that is a shame.  I am not going to 
argue which one is better because I don't care.  They are just different 
mediums taht have different results.

I guess you can say it is like drinking wine or beer or liquor.  The end 
result is getting drunk. But each one goes down (and sometimes backup) 
differently.
