Tinsldoer: Your theory breaks down at two critical points, making your views obsolete .
1. The Cambodian government is corrupt to the core , so even if marijuana was legal, there would still be mass corruption , but it would just be the Politicians making the money instead of the villains , so legalising cannabis wouldnt put a stop to corruption, it would just turn the Politicians into even mote corrupt then they already are.
2. The corruption in Cambodian life isnt caused by the cultivation of cannabis , corruption effects all walks of society , the cultivation and selling of marijuana accounts for only a small percentage of corruption .
Its only when you visit these Countries that you realise the poverty that people live in and the corruption that effects everyday life . Its only when you visit these Countries that you appreciate how lucky we are to live in a western democracy.
Tinsoldier and Greg : Have either of you been to Cambodia ? Have you seen the killing fields , not the film, but the actual fields? Have you seem the thousands of discarded skulls? Have you been to the Khmer Rouge prisons where inhumane atrocities took place , where you can still see the heavily blood stained floors? Where the doctors used to inject coconut juice into patients arms , in the hope of of being beneficiary , where they have scaffold clips at the bottom of a water butt and they clip peoples hands to the bottom of the water butt and then fill the water butt up with water , and so drowning the person who is stuck in there? Or are you two speaking on a subject that you have no knowledge of?

They are using their power and money to manipulate the Cambodian government into making weed illegal, which has,in turn, created corruption.Maybe not a desired side effect, but a side effect, but a side effect. And now they've forced Cambodia to make this move,I do not see them doing anything to prevent this corruption that they have created, intentionally or not.
So legal drugs makes a corrupt government?Making it illegal to take drugs is a breach of human rights.I know for a fact theres something in the American constution saying anything that doesn't encroach on anothers human rights should not be illegal.Theyre taking away peoples basic human rights to chase a threat that strikes once in a blue moon. We've all gone to war to root out terrorists, but the attacks are still happening,no progress has been made, and its unlikely any progress will be made. Its already been on the news that British forces in Afghanistan are spread thin, making it rather difficult to fight a war that noone wanted in the first place. But hey, you're Pete, you're always right!

Right. , lets get this straight . Tinsoldier believes that America will only give Cambodia cash if Cambodia makes the cultivation of Marijuana illegal , America wants drugs to be made illegal in Cambodia because this will encourage corruption and this will give America an excuse to invade !!!!!!!
That is complete nonsense tinsoldier . For a start , if America wanted to breed corruption and destabilise the country, they wouldnt give any aid and they wouldnt press for drugs to be made illegal . America has no desire to invade Cambodia , why would it ? Both China and Vietnam would get involved if America moved in on Cambodia , theres nothing there anyway, why would anyone want to invade Cambodia?
Cambodia still has a Socialist/Communist leadership , The Western Capitalist nations are bailing out the failed communist nations , Cambodia is living proof that Communism is unworkable . Look at Cambodia and look at the corruption Communism breeds . Communism has breed a system which os corupt to the core with Police killing each other .
I feel sorry for those who have taken the authority as truth,
Rather than the truth as authority
