I've never understood how deferring your purchase of oil for one day is
supposed to affect anything. If everyone refrained from buying oil on that
day and also didn't use any, i.e. stayed home or something, that would stand
a chance of working...otherwise won't the oil companies just recoup their
loss when your car runs out of gas later in the week or whatever (?!)

Considering Oil is something of a limited resource these days, to put it 
mildly, I actually don't have a problem with high prices. I only have a 
problem with where the surplus money goes.
Instead of saying don't do, maybe suggest alternatives that don't pillage 
our home, planet earth.
