[kj] the essence

I could never really get into One Inch Man. But hey, let's hear it for Fatso Forgetso. Part 1 AND 2!

One Inch Man is another classic off And the Circus Leaves Town …but then there’s way too much fluff in the middle. But those two would almost make the whole album worthwhile. Agreed with Sky Valley, esp Space Cadet…

I dunno, I find it hard to get through their last album. It seems so half-hearted. I'll give it another listen though. Sky Valley has the best shit, I think. 100 Degrees, Demon Cleaner, Whitewater, Space Cadet mmmmmmmmmmmm. Good stuff indeed.

I thought that bit was a joke, probably doesn’t stand out much amongst the sonic doomery of the song…but they definitely have a sarcastic side. For some reason I always imagined Kyuss as the band that the mad drummer off the Muppets would be most into…

PS: Any Kyuss fans agree with me that Spaceship Landing, the last track of their last album, is their magnum opus? Josh Homme’s solo(s) in that are absolutely sublime….

It’s the “You’ve been burned by my lighter / And my lighter is held down by my thumb” which always sounds silly to me. I never take much notice of lyrics but that stood out. Still – the track’s a belter.

Good story too.

Yes!! God bless you for excellent taste. But I disagree about the lyrics -
The first time I heard 'Thumb', the next day I went in to a job that I hated and quit. It was hearing that first line, 'You don't seem to understand the
deal...', sat on the aforementioned monster riff, that pushed me to act. True story.

Back to rock anthems: Kyuss - "Thumb". Lame lyrics but what a monster
riff! That's got to be the biggest rocking riff ever.

Cheers,
