Yeah, I agree that Iggy and The Stooges along with perhaps the MC5 were the
prototypical punks.

A lot of what begat the punk movement as far as musical style on both sides
of the pond was simply an inability to play their instruments. When in
doubt, turn up the volume and thrash out chords.
