Wow - I don't know what to say. Is it akin to wiping ones arse on the Pixies, et al, or will it introduce
people to music they didn't know? Maybe a bit of both?

can he use a slide rule, or is that way too old hat?
also, just saw this in the NME, yikes!
'The hugely-successful Rock Band video game is taking its cover band concept to the next level with the news that players can now buy full albums to play through the game.
The game, which was created by MTV, will now feature entire albums from the likes of the Pixies <http://www.nme.com/artists/pixies> ’ ‘Doolittle’ and The Cars self-titled debut. The first album to be made available will be metallers <http://www.nme.com/artists/judas-priest> classic ‘Screaming For Vengeance’. '

Geek fight!! Okay, as I had a sneaking suspicion when I wrote it, it actually pre-dates the 8086 and was made by an ex-Intel employee to be binary-compatible with the 8080, and actually took over that market segment because it was far superior.

The chip is still used in embedded applications all over the place, from fax machines and printers, to hard-disks, mp3 players, midi sequencers etc.

You can download the vast majority of those arcade games, there’s various programs called ROM emulators, I think, that play them. MAME32 is one I’ve used (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator)…being so basic the games run fine on any old PC. It’s a Windows program…just download and install it, then download the games and throw them in the ROM folder and you’re away.
Then there’s emulators for various other platforms like Atari, SNES, probably the Speccy and all that…(the Speccy was just a PC – 8086 - clone, albeit faster and more popular…)

I walked into a video arcade in Hollywood a good while ago and all the way
in the back they had these games from the, i think, the 1660s 1680s or so, games
like Missile Command, Defender, and Galaga. I played them and i had the most fun
i've had gaming in a long time.
I also like that AfterBurner game.
Wait: trend?
GAME TITLES
Asteroids
Afterburner
Empire (song)
...all are KJ song titles.
