It's not likely to be popular, but I do rather like the Roten Rosen/Toten Hosen Christmas album. All perfectly cheesy three-chord renditions of all the worst traditional Christmas tunes. Their version of Auld Lang Syne- complete with ludicrous scottish accent- is delightful.
Jim.

Yeah, the "Less Than Zero" soundtrack had "I'm goin' back
to Cali, to Cali, to Cali -- I'm goin' back to Cali -- man, I don't
think so..."
It is a surprisingly good soundtrack for such a weirdly 80s film - Slayer,
Danzig, Public Enemy, Roy Orbison, the Bangles' surprisingly up-tempo,
rapid-fire cover of Simon & Garfunkel's "Hazy Shade of Winter"
that garnered them a solid hit (and which still kinda rocks eve by today's
standards), etc.

it included "Bring the Noise" by Public Enemy, no? Awesome record.
