You know there will be a contender......they are just riding on the poor economy, which would prevent start up fees to compete with ebay being readily available, and basic name recognition.  They used to have cool things, which makes me sad.....I got "Medusa" by Clan of Xlymox for about 99 cents a few years ago.

The "big changes" will be narrowing down the sellers even more (by jacking up the fees substantially) and emphasizing a more "store-like" shopping experience.  Joe and Jane who sold books or teddy bears or whatever are done.  They will be forcibly removed.  So it takes the fun out of finding that little gem at a reasonable price (another thing, most things on ebay will now be comparable in price to what it costs at a local store) is no more, and regular peeps won't be selling stuff......just "power sellers" who can afford the fees.  I discovered this by seeing several angry rants by sellers on the site itself and also some writer stated this was a good time to buy ebay stock.....and he didn't expect the rabidly angry comments he got from sellers and buyers alike.  Really quite sad.  It also begs the question "What makes ebay special anymore?"  If they just wanna be Amazon, why bother to continue?  Are they hoping for a merger?  They should be more focused on the consumer and small seller in this economy, imo.
