Sort of in line with the "ASTEROOOID" thread (about the "Tunguska Event" 
that might have been a black hole hitting and annihilating a large 
portion of Siberia 100 years ago) -- the USSR's dreaded "Tsar Bomba," 
the largest bomb ever detonated on planet earth:

Its explosion was "1.4% the power of the Sun." Yikes. And that was only 
AFTER they reduced it to 50% of its power after scientists' fears for 
the planetary and atmospheric repercussions if it had been detonated at 
100% of its capacity.
