I think "Bloodflowers" is an excellent album and poorly accepted by some, but to each his own right? ;)
It is so strange that the L.A. Times did not review both Cure shows here in Los Angeles? There is nothing online too on their page. They always have reviewed their gigs here when they have played.
Cheers,

Mine too, I get goosebumps just thinking about when I saw/heard that one live.
<<< Yes, I hope the new album is better than the last now that Porl is back in the band again for the 3 rd time. The new songs sound a bit like "Wish" like Porl never left. >>>
>From the two new songs I heard, I thought one of them sounded like something off Bloodflowers. Which is a compliment, I might add. Much underrated album.
<<< You know we can't stand that song "Friday I'm in Love" and we saw many people sit down in their sits during that one. HA! >>>
Yes, I was hoping we wouldn't get "treated" to that one too, seeing as it was a Thursday...
Cheers,
Janean

We were walking up when they were doing the new song and opener "Underneath the stars'' which sounded cool so we caught the second song "Prayers For Rain" which is one of my favorites. I was looking for "Palinsong" as a opener too and they have been doing it on some of the stops but not this time which was fine. The sound was great and I never go to outdoor shows due to the crowds and shitty bands that open at times.

Glad to post it. :)

Cool! They only did 2 new songs when I saw them back in March and these newer ones sound more exciting - must be good if they opened the show with one. (Although I'd have been a bit miffed missing Plainsong - surely nothing can top that as a Cure show opener.)
Really looking forward to the new album. Hope it's better than the last one. Which wasn't bad, to be fair, but was tainted for me by that awful first track.
Cheers for posting,
Janean

So we saw The Cure last night at the Hollywood Bowl and they were great! The only qualms I had were they played not enough of 17 secs. , Faith , Pornography, and The Top. When they played 100 Years the screen behind them had all these old photos from World War 2 and I thought it fitted Discharge more then them but it looked really cool though! They threw about 5 new songs into their 35 song set and the last song which is new before the 4 encores was "Baby Dog Rag Book" which sounded like something off of KJ's "Night time"! kid you not, we were tripping on that. The best new song yet! Anyway it had to be sold out and there were more normal people there it seemed then Goths & Punks. I did not see so many. Here is the setlist if you Cure fans want to check out....

I never had that stuff in my room but it was a different world then. Multi-media is so much more a part of everyday life now and you can't or shouldn't hide from it. By the same token, you shouldn't go completely overboard with it. We've got a TV in my 2-year old daughter's room. It really only gets used in the morning. She can watch Dora the Explorer while she drinks her milk or juice. The real issue i'm worried about is a cell phone. When does she get one? 12? 6? Her 3rd birthday?

Why do parents put that shit in kids rooms? Tellies, consoles, etc, etc. Mental.

ive met the rasta who makes GTA. A quiet unassuming guy training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu who was very perturbed when i told him i noticed a great improvement in my sons behaviour when i stopped him playing the game after removing his console from the room after a bout of unreasonable behaviour.

yeah, well... I'm over 30 and I still play them... having said that...
I was playing tonight the latest GTA4 (Grand Theft Auto) on my Playstation3 and as soon as I headed into one of the game's strip joints this song struck me with familiarity... due to it being so out of the blue it took me quite a while to recognize it... fuck me, it's Killing Joke! what surprised me even more was the fact that it wasn't any of their new stuff, it was Turn to Red... gotta say, fitted the mood perfectly...
