About the Weathermen, excellent documentary on the topic with soundtrack 
done by Ian MacKaye of Fugazi/Minor Threat, you'll note they targeted 
vacant areas, never killed anyone except themselves during a mishap in 
their apartment. Right wing abortion cinic bombers and folks who shoot 
doctors that are reputed to perform them, not to mention the right-wing 
"the UN's gonna get us in their new world order" militia movement that 
played a role on the Oklahoma City bombing, are a province of the 
extreme right.

At the macro policy level, yes, the Democrats have proven quite 
bloodthirsty. Truman was the only President to authorize the use of 
atomic bombs against non-military, population centers or any foreign 
country ever for that mater, marking the US as the only nation to employ 
nuclear or atomic weapons against another. Truman so proposed universal 
health care, which was called a communist plot. LBJ and Kennedy 
escalated the Vietnam War, Bay of Pigs, etc. Clinton took the US into 
Somalia, Haiti, and the Balkans. FDR led the US throgh WWII. Yet despite 
all this, Dems have a weird reputation of being namby pamby liberals.
