[kj] So 80s

Bearded weirdos in open white blazers and tank tops...never knew that
particular brand of shitness had a name...yacht rock. Ugh. Yes I certainly
grew up on that as well.

I just finished a 6 month contract at a yachting company, they can be weird
folks, yachties. Seem to be a fair amount who only seem into it because it's
competitive, elitist and statusy. But then there's the ones who just love
the water and getting pissed (they pretty much all have that in common).

What about Toto ("I saw the rains down in Affffrica...") or Christopher
Cross...? ("Sailing")

"Along with Michael McDonald, Toto, Kenny Loggins and, to a lesser
degree, Hall and Oates, Cross formed the backbone of the so-called
"Yacht Rock" genre of adult contemporary music, which captured the
imagination of would-be sailors everywhere in the late 1970s and early
1980s." -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Cross
