I think you're spot-on there, it's Mel's relative Robin Simon on guitar (also of 'Ultravox!'). No worse for it, in my opinion - I love his style just as much as McGeochs.

Any Magazine fans out there, there are some new live vids on Youtube that come from
the German telly network WDR. They are exceptional quality - the best footage I've ever seen
of Magazine.
