Reasons I am at peace with the setlist (a list ala Alex in NYC):
1) I'd rather see them do a set of music currently vital and alive in their conscious than a half-hearted walk-through of "hits".
2) The cherry-picked song list from the last three albums is a blistering set, as I'm one of the only people I know that thinks there's been plenty of merit to the last three albums.
3) After kicking a 20 year heroin habit, maybe the old songs are a bad memory trigger for Al, or perhaps he can't reach the emotional arc without an armfull.
4) It's 2008, and it can be psychologically dangerous to ignore the calendar.
5) It's a farewell party for some old friends, what do I care what they're serving?
6) I've been doing work and daddy duty straight for a week and I have to get out of this f*cking house.
ready to rock like a 40 year old a-hole, earplugs in pocket,
