[kj] Pitchfork's 500 Most Important Songs since 1977

This looks like a list that was made by pretentious musos who thought naming (for the most part) the more obscure songs by these bands makes them look "more relevant". 'Third Uncle' is a sorry choice, especially since it is a cover. If they left out KJ, well, I am disappointed, and I don't handle disappointment well.

They have many (not all, obviously!) of the right bands, but their song choices are a little oblique. 'Third Uncle' a damn good song, but I don't think it's the most important or even the best tune Bauhaus ever penned. Likewise with Television ('Venus' is and always will be [IMHO, of course] the best song from that band). Odd.--- On Sun, 9/11/08, Alexander Smith <vassifer at earthlink.net> wrote:

Ultimately, it's meaningless. Fleetingly curious reading, but meaningless.
