My extremely patient (and KJ newbie) GF and I will be representing the Twin Cities at both NYC and Chicago; we're staying at the Belden downtown. Recommendations for a meet-up location would be appreciated.

Where in the area are you staying in or around so locals on here (self included) can suggest
a few local places to kill some time during the day, how to beat traffic, get around town, shortcuts,
tips, taxi tips, etc.. Since i won't be able to make it *cue violins* the least i can is help a visitor out.

enjoy your stay.

Just wondering who is going to bid the band farewell with me in Chicago? I do not recall anyone saying they plan to attend the Chicago set. I just arrived in LA tonight and I don't know how I am ever going to make it through the next day and a half until the show. I suppose I will while away the hours at some music stores and science museums and maybe a bar or two. El Compadre before the show? 10-4 good buddies. Oh yeah, I was watching a clip of Uncle Al on Dave Navarro's show saying his 50th birthday is Oct 9th. So lets raise glasses to the living and the dead and everyone gathered between.

Music: Punk/Metal Killing Joke

Killing Joke

One of post-punk's thorniest acts, Killing Joke returns after a long silence for an abrasive night in Chicago. The playlist will include numbers band's first two albums, 1980's Killing Joke and 1981's What's THIS For...!, as well as early stripped-down punk ditties from the band's Island Records days, and later tribal, hypnosis-inducing chart-toppers. All this while Let Them Eat Vinyl is in the midst of reissuing Killing Joke's album catalog including Revelations, Fire Dances, Night Time, Outside the Gate, and Brighter Than a Thousand Suns. With all four original members of the band on board, this opportunity to revisit the deep roots of industrial rock is hard to pass up.
