A lot of the early daniel Ash guitar stuff is super easy (which isn't a
bad thing) and he's said he's never thought of the guitar as an
instrument that shoud stand out on its own and that he never felt h was
a particuarly talented guitarist. I always get the feeling, listening to
early Bauhaus songs like Dark Enntries and Bela, which has super, super
easy guitar parts, that Ash would make up for what he lacked in fretbard
dexterity with weird effects like pick slides (the scree scree on
Stigmata Martyr" and strange percussive stuff. Of course, like anyone,
the more years went by and the more LPs he made, the better he got. but
the earliest and my fave stuff by Bauhaus is really easy to learn. "Dark
Entries" is just ridiculously easy, but one of my fave Bauhaus songs.
