I'd cast Joacquin Phoenix as Jaz in an imaginary biopic, and John Stamos as Big Paul; 
Keanu Reeves can be Youth, Tim Curry would be Paul Raven and a young Rutger Hauer as Geordie.

I don't mind Phoenix, (although his name sounds like a semi ridiculous
stage name, if it's not I stand corrected), but I thought him doing Johnny
Cash was a bit luke warm to be honest.
