[kj] [OT] More Palin

It's sort of 'conventional wisdom' around here, among people
who go or live in Vegas, and every now and then you see it in some
magazine about casinos.
They also never ever have clocks on the walls or anywhere visible
to gamers, exterior windows (can give away the time or how long
you've been there), and the gaming area floor plans are so vast and
maze-like. And it's all to deliberately disorient you timewise, location-
wise [again, the maze floorplans], and mentally (the extra oxygen).

Oh yeah, and the usually superhot cocktail waitresses serving
you nonstop free drinks while you play. They also have nostalgic
music (50s-80s) to further your mental regression.

2 great films about Vegas hijinx are original Oceans 11(1960), the remake,
and best of all, CASINO. Ace Rothstein aka The Golden Jew rules!

Hmmmm, never heard of that. May I ask where you picked it up from?
Though maybe it'll help me quit smoking? :) I'll be to giddy to give a fuck
about the ciggies! Wooohooo!

The only thing missing is for the parties to pipe in overly-oxygenated air, making you
feel light-headed going into the voting booths, just like the Vegas casinos.

in blackjack - to notice just

 the recurring patterns in the

     polls... for sanity's sake)

Everyday it looks like something else. We got a loooooooooong ways to go.

In 24 hours they have a gazillion polls changing constantly.
It's sorta like those Vegas slot machines.

Pull the lever, press the button. Wooohooo... The jackpot is very rare.

Well, I think that Palin exudes a dominatrix type of demeanor.  It is purely lower chakra sexuality (though there certainly is nothing wrong with that, but it wouldn't sway voters or Heather Locklear would be President.)  Obama tries, and sometimes (emphasis on that word) succeeds in looking like he is a savior to a broken population.

Bottom line, interested ladies and germs are excited by Palin's "dark side" (if she has one), whereas with Obama he knows he has to up the game and make it look like he truly can creative this elusive "change".  Therefore, the vote will go to Obama.    Or, I am deluded myself which is entirely possible. :)

Well, you could describe the slavish, orgasmic devotion to Palin in the same way. They've got the same manic gleam in their eye, too.

I honestly never thought you liked O in a messianic way.  You just don't come
across that way, if i've "listened" correctly all along. Butcha gotta admit that when
you're in some Bamapalooza-style gathering.. you must sense a certain subtle
difference between how you are accepting Obama and lotsa the others around you.
I mean, lots of those when brought together start to look like highly devoted,
wide-eyed yet slightly condescending Hare Krishnas out on the Venice Beach Boardwalk.

btw, about "..the any messiah B.S.", what I "asterisked" at bottom of my previous
reply were  the actual definitions of "messiah" and "messianic", included strictly to
avoid ambiguity:

Sorry, but I'm not fooling enough to buy into any messiah B.S.
And Obama may be seen by some as a "messiah" but John McCain  -- who I happily would have backed 8 years -- has SOLD his soul. And that's tragic.
(And maybe you weren't around during the Reagan years, but the GOP basically holds him up as a god.)

Maybe one day this country will stop idolizing politicians from any party, and just see them a no-nonsense light. In the meantime, we're stuck with what we're stuck with.
And I'm not supporting McCain.
Appreciate your thoughts, however.

Best,

;)
Non-right skeptics have been saying 'messiah' since before i heard
the right wing using it, & the whole "YOU CAN bring us deliverance from
our national sins, as a nation"[rednd.4mphsis] attitude towards Obama is
pretty much a case of "if the shoe fits...then put the other one on and let's go."

The whole messianic fervor is one that O'Followers very openly proclaim
and embrace, and condescendingly sometimes too, so if they so enjoy how
the shoes feel, then everything's pretty clear by that point.

I've learned you can't rationalize away someone's flaws even and especially)
if you need that person to win, because what that just does is actually to validate
them [flaws] and then you can't shake them - because you just validated them.

Basically, when backing a thief, you can't ever tell
them "oh, it was ok, that one time...." or else.

Yeah, there's nothing to say: Hillary's been dead and buried; she paid for her
mismanagement of her race. Chelsea looks qute at times, tho'.

You have a point, Sade. However, Clinton didn't win.Don't know what to tell you about that. And with all due respect, I don't know why you keep repeating the "messiah" thing. That's a right-wing talking point.)
If you think McCain's going to win, that's OK. Personally, I'd prefer that not happen.

Between Obamarama and Joey "Pluggs" Biden it's clear Biden (with 30yrs.+ gov't. and international experience) is much better prepared to steer the country thru the current world, and so to be president. Unless it really is true that experience is not only irrelevant, but pointless.
That's the insult of that ticket; doesn't anyone see the irony in Obama/Biden. I'm supposed to believe otherwise?  Also, if it's true that Joey "Pluggs" said Hillary would be a better vice- than him, then, isn't it true that...

Biden > Obama  for the presidency, (not for Temple High Priest)
Hillary > Biden,  for the presidency, (not for Temple High Priest)
Hillary > Obama for the presidency, (not for Temple High Priest)

What gets me is that whole "we're-so-right-ergo you're-all-so-wrong!" messianic trance state Obamarama's peoples are in that they don't see the irony in all this.

Doesn't know the bush doctrine?

How about Obama who is running for President not knowing about
UN policy? Recall the "lets go to the UN and go after Russia" while forgetting
that Russia has Veto Power?

Or when Barack Obama said, "I'm going to call in the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and give them a new mission,
and that is to bring the war in Iraq to a close."
The problem is that the Joint Chief of Staff does not have operational command of the U.S. Military. So he
has no clue how the gov't works as well.

Hmmmm....

I guess that sorta evens out the "best candidate" arguemtn ehhh?

Somebody tell us again why McCain picked this woman -- it sure as hell wasn't because she was the best candidate.
Sad, sad, sad.
