According to the lyric notes on The Chameleons website, that story (although I don't really get the lyrics and its story base but still) is the basis for the song "Paper Tigers"
I wouldn't personally say that KJ and The Chameleons were worlds apart musically personally, at least not both bands early post punk stuff, both share an urgency.....
What I find interesting though is there seems to be two sorts of KJ fans, some of us that like post punk and others that prefer rock & Industrial.

It's fair to say that my 2 favourite bands from yesteryear aren't friends.
For me The Chameleons are the Yin to Killing Jokes Yang.
Neither really got the recognition or success they deserved & although poles apart musically, the influence each band has had on shaping modern guitar music is immense.
well, it's a theory...
