You can get some hints about the third season of Riget from Stephen King's otherwise mediocre adaptation Kingdom Hospital- Lars Von Trier gave him the script to help out with the conclusion.

The second season has never been made available in the UK, so most British fans aren't even aware there was another season (I bought the Danish 4-disc edition). It's well worth tracking down on European or US editions.

There was a third series in the making which died with the untimely death of Ernst-Hugo Järegård. Damned pity on both accounts, great actor!
