Spot on about the role of his fucking annoying wife. And I express my
annoyance here not at her, but at the way she’s being used to flesh him out
by association, and to detract attention from what’s going on with his
competency, his team and his decisions.

 

She wears bare arms. She’s well toned. She touched the Queen. She dresses in
chain-store clothes sometimes, which is a good choice for the times
for
fuck’s sake, I thought we got over that shit in the 50s.

 

Could we just do a sex tape with the Obamas and Sarkozys getting it on, the
Queen running the show with a whip and a chair in S&M get-up, get it out of
our systems, and get on with running the fucking free world?

Those tax breaks that will expire are going to assist the coffers.
Minimally?  Dunno.
 
Yes, you can write a laundry list of all the ways Obama is behaving like an
American President, not Eugene Debs. 
 
As Jazzy says, when the stable is owned by the same interests, yet the two
horses are supposed to be competition, it is a farce (paraphrase, of
course).
 
I laughed with recognition at the Guardian's view of Obama during his recent
trip across the pond, which was something to the effect of "everyone know
Obama has some difficulty exuding compassion, so his wife Michelle is an
excellent ambassador".  That statement alone would never be printed in the
US, or be given alot of attention.  
 
Obama is "same as it ever was", a jingoist with more melanin.  To be the US
President means you have to play by certain rules.  I just prefer to watch
him play than watch the last president get so drunk he choked on a pretzel.

Now, if you look at the arguments that RIAA lawyers put forth in court,
trust me, there is NO privacy.
Not to mention many other arguments that I won't list now as this one is

Taxes:
Bette, Considering the amount of unsustainable spending that the Obama
administration is planning, it
is just about impossible that it can be done with raising taxes all over the
place. This 95% tax cut is gonna 
be VERY short lived. 

Tea Party Riot:
Oliver, there were no riots, it was actually quite peaceful. No burning
objects thrown at people, no breaking windows
no flipping cars. I'd call that a protest, not a riot. It seems that they
behaved far better than most of the "other" protests
I've seen over the past decade (or more).

I just wanted to point out that President Obama said he would not renew the
tax cuts that the Bush Administration gave to the top 1%.  He is simply
going to let them expire (2010, I believe).  He has been consistent with
this statement throughout his campaign and presidency.  Believe me, I would
have thrown 'em out the first day, and I do not think Obama is the greatest
hope for humanity.  However, letting them expire shows he is  addressing the
issue in a way that will cause the least amount of chaos.  He must be a good
Chess player.
