Got robbed at gunpoint just before last Christmas, and never heard from the police again after
making the report, despite my telling them I was ready to cooperate and see this through..
Ironically, what they did do once they showed up and came inside was take pics of my parents' home. Wtf?

So cops are helpful now. Interesting.

I know studies have been done that show cops have higher rates of things like spouse abuse. And of course cops HAVE to be helpful much of the time (giving directions, etc is part of their job) but their other role is to stomp on those who are less fortunate.
BTW, I've often found cops to not even be helpful when you need them. I was mugged late one night for $ I'd made driving a cab and got NO help from a cop; just this week I filed a report w/ the pigs after my car was smashed in a parking lot, and probably captured on the security camera; I called several days ago and have yet to hear if they're even going to handle that case.

Cops are no more exclusively violent thugs than all football fans or political protesters are. As has been demonstrated, everyone's got their own 'bad cop' story, but I've also got a fair few stories about cops who have been genuinely helpful and I've been glad of their assistance. Unless I'm lying, that negates the idea that all cops are assholes. Sweeping generalisations rarely stand up to scrutiny.

That doesn't make a 'cop lover', just in case anyone was wondering.

Jim.

Cop lover. Amazing.

Some cops are really cool. Some cops are complete douchebags. Some cops are drug dealing, pimping, murderers with a badge. Some aren't. Doesn't that seem a little more reasonable? No, it doesn't. All cops suck. They're all out to make life suck for anyone who isn't a great, big square. I read that somewhere.
